Why pay for all the bells and whistles when you don't use them? Frugal Golf GPS by MapMuse is an inexpensive and simple to use tool that uses the iPhone's built-in GPS to give golfers real-time yardage from their ball to any pin marked on the golf course.

This app is for DIY (do it yourself) individuals. Simply use the app to create a course by marking and saving pin positions either prior to play or while on the golf course. You can mark center of greens, front and back of greens, and hazards. Once you have marked a course there is no need to do it again but you can edit your pin positions whenever you want.

If you are familiar with the course it should take less than 10 minutes to set up a course. Otherwise you can go to the course's website and view the course layout to identify green locations. As examples we have marked the center of greens for two famous courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links and Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters.

While playing simply select a pre-marked pin to get an accurate distance from your current location to that pin. You can also manually refine your current position by selecting manual mode. Simply move your ball to get the yardage to the currently selected pin position.

This is a fun and easy to use app for the frugal golfer. It does what it says it does, and at the right price!
