Description:  Tom and I had a passion for food that led us to Bologna, Italy in 1980 where we immersed ourselves in cooking classes with Marcella Hazan. Those classes were seminal in changing the way we thought about food. We discovered that the roots of Italian cuisine lie in rustic, uncomplicated peasant cooking synthesized to the point of pure, heavenly art; its unparalleled flavor a result of integrity to fresh, indigenous ingredients and simplicity of preparation.
