Jordan, the "Owner/Sales Division" of Payless Tree Service, agreed to cut back trees and shrubbery at my mother's house. He gave us a list of ten items--trimming various trees around the property. Number 10 was "Haul away debris." -Jordan and his crew appeared as scheduled and cut most of the trees they had agreed to do--not particularly neatly, but acceptably. Of the ten agreed-upon jobs, eight were more or less done. He hauled away some debris, but left a huge pile right across the sidewalk in front of our house and another huge pile in the back yard. One tree that we had particularly wanted trimmed was not cut. I pointed it out to him and he said that he would get to it. The next day, they reappeared and spent a few hours dealing with that pile of branches on the sidewalk. After a few hours, they started packing up to leave. The pile of branches in the back yard was still there. The tree he had promised to cut was still un-cut. There was still a small pile of trash right across the sidewalk in front. When I asked him about this, he told me that he was going to drop off the trash he had in his truck and return to "make a sweep" of the yards. He told me, again, that he would cut the un-cut tree. We haven't seen him since. Unfortunately, sometime on the first day of the job, he talked my mother into paying him. I finally cleared away the pile of trash blocking the sidewalk in front of the house. Yesterday, we called him several times. He called back to say that he would finish the job when the rain had stopped (admittedly, yesterday was a very rainy day). Today, no rain. No Jordan. No Payless Tree Service. No response to several phone calls.

Horrible. He was supposed to deliver a 4x8 rack of wood and a free 4x4 half-rack of wood. He "forgot" the free 4x4 half-rack and said he'd deliver it the next day, but didn't. Then he said it would be the next week, but didn't. It's now been 3 months and he no longer responds to my voicemails or e-mails. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

bought a couple loads from this guy the wood was so so some was kind of green the last load was short by about half and green ,probably why it was only half was because of the weight.wont be getting any more.

The above map shows firewood retail locations. Firewood is typically sold in units called a "cord of wood," which can have two meanings: 1) a "full cord" measures four feet high by four feet wide by eight feet long (with the average log measuring about 1/3 as large as the full cord), or 2) a "face cord" measures one third of a full ord stack of wood that is 4 by 8 ft by 16 in. Due to its renewable nature, finding cheap firewood for sale is pretty easy to do in most areas. The best firewood has been harvested from standing, dead trees that have dried and not yet started to rot, so keep that in mind when shopping. Many firewood retail locations also sell related tools and implements, including firewood splitters, firewood racks and other firewood storage solutions, and occasionally even wood fire stoves.
