Fireworks shows are spectacular pyrotechnic displays that are often launched during celebratory events. Holidays that are typically celebrated with fireworks displays are July 4th and New Years. In addition, fireworks competitions may take place throughout the year that reward the best pyrotechnic for their skills in producing the most impressive and creative displays.

Fireworks are also sold for personal use in states where legal, although these are typically firecrackers, sparklers, etc., and not the highly flammable (and highly dangerous) skyrockets seen in major cultural and religious celebrations.
