Navy Exchanges (commonly known as NEX or simply "base exchanges" are on-base retail stores that sell consumer goods and services to active duty, Reserve, National Guard, and retired United States Uniformed Services members and their families. All Navy Exchanges are run by the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). Exchanges typically resemble department stores, and sell a variety of goods including navy uniforms, health and beauty products, athletic gear, men's and women's clothes, beer and wine, liquor, and more. Many NEX locations also have service shops and stores, including barber shops, movie theaters, and car maintenance and repair.
