Playgrounds and Kid Friendly Parks Locations Locator Map and Directory

This map shows playgrounds and kid friendly parks across the USA. Playgrounds (a.k.a. "play areas") are places that have been specifically designed to accomodate playing children. While some playgrounds are indoors, most of the ones on this map are outdoor playgrounds. Common recreational equipment fround at playgrounds includes chin-up bars, sandbox, spring rider, monkey bars, overhead ladder, trapeze rings, playhouses, mazes, seesaw, merry-go-round, swingset, slide, and jungle gym. Modern playgrounds contain play structures that link many pieces of equipment, combining them into one giant structure. Although some playgrounds are private (e.g. those found at most private elementary schools), all of the ones on this map are open to the public. Public play areas include public parks, public schools, child care facilities, institutions, multiple family dwellings, restaurants, resorts, and recreational developments. Please check first before letting your child play at any of these sites.
