This map shows restaurants visited by Anthony Bourdain on the TV shows No Reservations and The Layover. No Reservations (officially called "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations") is a Travel Channel show in which the host, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, travels worldwide to sample various cuisines. In addition to exploring each culture's food, Bourdain immerses himself in local life, educating viewers on topics ranging from surviving during Icelandic winters to running a high powered restaurant in NYC. Since premiering in 2005, No Reservations has become one of the Travel Channel's most popular and critically acclaimed shows, even taking home an Emmy award in 2007. Notable guests have included Andrew Zimmern, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, and Anthony Bourdain's wife, Ottavia Busia.
Bourdain parlayed his success on No Reservations into another travelling food show called The Layover in 2011. Also a Travel Channel program, The Layover shows Bourdain spending between twenty-four and forty-eight hours in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, and Singapore. In each city, Bourdain attempts to tour as many restaurants, accomodations, and other attractions as possible. He often meets up with locals (often fellow chefs), who show him off-the-beaten-path places that the typical tourist would never see. The Layover has been both a commercial and critical success thus far.
