MapMuse was nominated by Inman News as one of the most innovative companies of the year for 2004.

Every year, Inman recognices companies that "use technology to speed up the real estate transaction for consumers or advance business models, services or tools that help real estate and mortgage professionals".

MapMuse was nominated in the Real Estate Data category.

MapMuse was formed in February 2000 in an office just around the corner from the White House in Washington DC. It was born out of the idea that there exist better ways to search for places of interest than existing text-based searches or basic mapping.

Instead of showing a map of a single place of interest at the end of a search, MapMuse pioneered geographic searches by integrating interactive maps with place of interest content.

After targeting tourism organizations early on, it was quickly realized that the same methods created to help tourists find places of interest, could be used to help a home buyer find the perfect home and identify surrounding amenities and services in the area.

Today MapMuse provides mapping and content services to some of the largest real estate brokers in the country as well as convention and visitors bureaus.

What's next? MapMuse is working on expanding our services to the Real Estate Industry. Please check back for future product and service announcements.
