| Sponsored links are a great way to promote your website.
In short, they allow you to put links to your site on
MapMuse pages related to your site's content. |
| For example, let's say your website is an online golf
club shop, or a blog offering golf tips. You might want
to put a sponsored link on our Golf Courses page (and
Golf Instructors, Golf Shops, Golf Schools, Golf Cart
Dealers, etc!) |
| Sponsored links are completely separate from being listed
on our map and directory. Only real-world locations that
people can visit (like shops, parks, buildings, etc.)
can be listed on our map, but any appropriate website
can participate in our sponsored links program. |
| Creating a sponsored link takes only a minute or two.
To get started, go to any MapMuse brand or interest related
to your website and click on 'Add My Business to Sponsored
Links'. |
| The charge for a sponsored link is $9.95/year, and there
are no additional costs regardless of how many times your
link is clicked. Since the links are very prominently
featured and appear on pages related to your website,
they have been very successful in generating click-throughs. |
| You must sign up separately for each brand or interest
you want your link to appear on. For example, if you wanted
to appear on both Antique Shops and Auctioneers, you would
need to create your link on both pages. |

to search for places of interest than existing text-based
or map searches. We wanted a map search without the usual
limitations; one that could display thousands of places
from multiple categories simultaneously. |

map showing ski resorts that also shows the closest hotels
in your price range. Or you could map of all the golf
courses in your state, and then search for those with
the highest rating. |
| We allow our visitors to view up to 2000 places of interest
on a single map without any geographic limits. This powerful

Can it be added to your map? |

If you know of a place that you want us to add to one
of our interests or brands:
1. Go to the home page for the interest or brand you
want to add to..
2. Click on the 'Add a Missing Place' link.
3. Enter all required fields and provide as much additional
info as you can.
4. Click on the 'Submit Add Request' button.
5. You are done! Your place will be added to the map
after verification within 48 hours.

| How do I update or correct information
about an existing place of interest on the map? |
|
If you want to update our information about a place:
1. Click on that place's icon on the map to view detailed
information about the place.
2. Click on the 'Click to edit or correct this place's
info' link.
3. Make changes to the information as necessary.
4. Click on the 'Submit Changes' button.
5. You are done! The information will be modified after
verification within 48 hours.

| How do I add a photo to the "roll over"
information and the place of interest profile? |
|
1. Click on that place's icon on the map to view detailed
information about the place.
2. Click on the 'Click to edit or correct this place's
info' link.
3. In the Photo URL field, paste or type in the URL*
of the photo to be displayed.
4. Click on the 'Submit Changes' button.
5. You are done! The information will be modified after
verification within 48 hours.
* Your photo must already reside on a web page. To determine
the photo's URL, right click on the photograph and select
properties from the menu. The URL of the photo is noted
in the information. It will begin with http:// and usually
ends with .gif, or jpg. Try pasting the URL into a browser
to make sure it works before submitting it.

| I noticed that the location of a place
is incorrect. Can this be corrected? |
| Because of the vagaries and incompleteness of postal
addresses, some places may be located only approximately.
If you can improve upon the location of one of the places
on our map, we'd appreciate it! To do so, click on that
place's icon on the map and click on the 'Click to
edit or correct this place's info' link on the resulting
details page. Then provide one of the following: |
- Latitude and longitude (can be obtained from many
sources including the link below)
- Complete address (if ours is incomplete)
- Nearest street intersection (if we have address but
couldn't locate the place) |
