Whether you call them treetop walkways or canopy walkways these high in the sky structures are a great way to get a birds-eye view or should I say tree dwelling animal view of the forest and terrain in some spectacularly beautiful areas.
Early canopy walkways were erected to help scientists a way to access their subjects of study. Since then access to tree canopies by scientists are conducted with canopy cranes that allow for broader access to tree canopies. Many of the walkways built for scientits have been converted to allow tourist to experience being high up in the trees without the risk of falling out of them. Additional treetop walkways have been built specifically for the tourist trade. Many walkways were built to access rainforest tree tops but now there are other walkways to access all types of forest trees.
